about

Nate Carpenter remixed Brothers Lazaroff tune "Where You Going Now?" at his studio Cafe Choice. After the initial mix Nate made room for a spoken word piece James Stone Goodman wrote to replace the verses of the tune. Behold the results....

lyrics

James Stone Goodman additional lyrics:

Begin with letting loose
Some time in the future our tears may wash us clean
Bones blood hearts
Some time into the future
Discerned from the heart's deep wisdom
We will lift our hands Into the wisdom of knowing
What to do
First we will live into the questions
Begin with the smaller circles
Feeling our way into the larger circles
Begin with the heart circle
Where you goin’ now

I track the ascents and descents,
the upper root and the lower root will find each other
but don’t leave me alone.
If the ends have been calculated,
I have not seen them.
All my broken bones are whole,
my broken heart too, every shard complete.
I love the partial, the broken, individual, incomplete,
the fragment, the wounded,
I love the separate, you said,
because it integrates,
and even if not,
it is whole
where you going now

She walks the earth
Gathering up threads of songs
Fragments of story and poetry
weaves them together into time.
Just enough time to make up another day.
The day is given to the Great Heart of the World
which then sings again
the next evening
In this way, out of love, song, in this way out of beauty, out of poetry,
out of yearning, waiting waiting
the world continues to exist.
Where you goin now
